What is Kampfinsel? #

Kampfinsel is a persistent multiplayer browser game inspired by the great German browser game classics of the 2000s. You take control of an island in a world made of nothing but ocean and jagged rocky outcrops.

Your goal: survive, grow, expand. You construct buildings, gather Gold, Stone and Wood, train troops, and dispatch fleets across the open sea. Alliances with other players are just as decisive as your own military strength.

The game runs fully asynchronously -- your island produces resources and your fleets travel onward even when you are not online. There are no sessions, no rounds. The world is persistent and shared among all players.

First Steps #

When you register, you receive an island with a small stockpile of resources and a town hall. From here you build your empire step by step:

• Build resource structures -- Gold mine, quarry and lumber camp produce the three basic resources
• Upgrade your town hall -- it unlocks new buildings and features
• Erect defenses -- Walls and watchtowers protect your island
• Research at the lab -- Technologies improve your troops and ships
• Build a harbor -- only then can you construct fleets and trade

The quest system in the logbook guides you through the key steps and rewards your progress.

The Game World #

The world of Kampfinsel is divided into oceans, which contain grids, which contain islands. Every island has a unique coordinate. Distances between islands are real -- a fleet needs actual time to reach its destination.

New players enjoy 14 days of beginner protection. During this phase you can build up your island in peace without fearing attacks. But beware: if you send an attack fleet yourself, your protection ends immediately — you will be warned explicitly before dispatching an attack or colonization fleet and must actively confirm.

Tips for Beginners #

• Invest in resource production first -- nothing works without resources
• Build a warehouse early to protect your stockpiles
• Check in regularly -- short, frequent sessions are more effective than rare marathons
• Join an alliance as soon as you can
