Rankings & Glory

One builds a statue only after forgetting how painful hunger feels. But whoever has points has glory -- and glory is the currency that never expires.

How Points Are Calculated #

Your overall score combines Empire, Naval Power, Attack and Defense. Buildings across all your islands contribute to Empire. Higher buildings yield more points; the Main Building awards more per level than other buildings.

Points are recalculated automatically every day and updated in the public rankings. You need not do anything -- just keep building and your score rises.

Ranking Categories #

The rankings are divided into several categories:

• Overall -- A weighted combination of all categories (Empire counts fully, Naval Power at half weight, Attack and Defense proportionally). This means "Overall" is not equal to the simple sum of the individual categories
• Empire -- Points from building levels
• Attack -- Points for enemy ships and troops you destroy while attacking, even in defeat
• Defense -- Points for enemy ships and troops you destroy while defending, even in defeat
• Naval Power -- Points based on your fleet strength. Naval counts your ships.

This lets you see who is the greatest builder, who is the most dangerous attacker, and who commands the strongest fleet. Some players focus on one category, others aim for the overall title.

Leagues #

Based on your overall score compared to all captains in the rankings, you are placed into a league. The leagues form a ladder of the sea -- from the very bottom to the very top:

• Driftwood -- the washed-ashore, the start of every career
• Rock -- those who have found their first foothold
• Anchor -- the settled, with firm ground beneath them
• Captain -- seasoned island lords
• Pirate -- feared powers of the sea
• Admiral -- the mightiest of the known world

Each league shows its strongest captains in its own leaderboard. Its leader carries a pennant unless they hold the Lodestar. In that case, nobody in that league carries the pennant. Your league depends on your rank relative to all captains in the rankings (only Old Empire ruins are excluded): when others overtake you, you can drop a league even without losing points, and as you grow you climb over time. The exact boundaries are not published; they shift daily with the field.

Any captain may reclaim old empire ruins, whatever league they stand in — only the quest path "The Stranded Inherit the Empires" stays reserved for the lower leagues. See the chapter "Colonization" for more.

The Lodestar #

Above all leagues stands a single title: the Lodestar. It belongs to the consistently leading active captain in the overall standings. You must remain the highest-ranked active captain for several consecutive days. A slumbering or rudderless captain ahead of you does not block the title. Banned captains and captains with a scheduled account deletion are not eligible.

You keep it only as long as you keep sailing. Whoever strikes the sails and falls idle releases the Lodestar. You can also lose it to a living rival who consistently overtakes you. The Lodestar is pure honor -- it grants neither power nor resources, only the visible mark that you stand at the very top.

Daily Updates #

The rankings are recalculated once a day, during the night (UTC); the rankings page tells you the exact time. The change arrows show whether you have risen or fallen compared to the previous day. The weekly evaluation also records the biggest risers, so you can follow momentum and trends over longer stretches.

Who Counts in the Rankings #

Abandoned Old Empire ruins -- the remnants of long-forsaken realms -- no longer appear in the rankings. The ladder measures only the world’s living captains, so no one is pushed down by the dead empires of the past. Slumbering and rudderless captains still count.

Strategy #

• Buildings are king -- Every level on every island counts toward your total score
• Statue for prestige -- Earns you personal prestige and ranking points and, together with your members' statues, drives the alliance buff (details in the "Alliances" chapter)
• Depth over breadth -- The Empire score honors the heart of an empire more than the sheer number of islands. A focused, deep empire is weighted higher than a scattered, broad one
• Stay consistent -- Leagues and the Lodestar reward steady growth and activity, not short-term spikes
