Kampfinsel Handbook — How to Play & Wiki

Rankings & Glory

One builds a statue only after forgetting how painful hunger feels. But whoever has points has glory -- and glory is the currency that never expires.

TL;DR: Your points measure your progress.

- Buildings across all your islands determine your score

- Multiple ranking categories highlight different strengths

- Leagues rank every captain from driftwood to admiral

- The Lodestar belongs to the steady number one of the overall standings

How Points Are Calculated #

Your score is derived from the building levels across all your islands. Higher buildings yield more points. The town hall awards more per level than other buildings, reflecting its central importance.

Points are recalculated automatically every day and updated in the public rankings. You need not do anything -- just keep building and your score rises.

Ranking Categories #

The rankings are divided into several categories:

This lets you see who is the greatest builder, who is the most dangerous attacker, and who commands the strongest fleet. Some players focus on one category, others aim for the overall title.

Leagues #

Based on your overall score you are placed into a league. The leagues form a ladder of the sea -- from the very bottom to the very top:

Each league shows its strongest captains in its own leaderboard. The first of a league leads it and carries a pennant. As your overall score grows, you climb into the next league over time.

Your league rank carries weight in play, too: every player up to and including the Captain rank may reclaim abandoned old empires — rise to Pirate and that head start ends. See the chapter "Colonization" for more.

The Lodestar #

Above all leagues stands a single title: the Lodestar. It belongs to the steady number one of the overall standings. A brief dash to the top is not enough -- the Lodestar is earned by holding first place in the overall standings for three days running.

You keep it only as long as you keep sailing. Whoever strikes the sails and falls idle releases the Lodestar. You can also lose it to a living rival who consistently overtakes you. The Lodestar is pure honor -- it grants neither power nor resources, only the visible mark that you stand at the very top.

Daily Updates #

The rankings are recalculated every day, at around 03:30 UTC. The change arrows show whether you have risen or fallen compared to the previous day. In addition, the weekly evaluation records the biggest risers of the week, so you can follow momentum and trends over longer stretches.

Active Captains Only #

Abandoned Old Empire ruins -- the remnants of long-forsaken realms -- no longer appear in the rankings. This way the ladder measures only the world's active captains, and no one is pushed down by the dead empires of the past.
