Knowledge Plans
Plans aren't treasures. They're notes someone took very seriously.
In short: Knowledge plans raise an island's resource production — and the travel speed of its fleets, if you have the matching research. A single plan is enough for that.
- Plans appear in your laboratory once it has reached level 6
- They're tied to the island, not to you
- Losing a battle can let an attacker plunder some of your plans
What are knowledge plans? #
Knowledge plans are an island-bound collection of insights. They don't boost everything, though: while your island holds a plan stockpile, its resource production rises and the researches that speed up travel (Navigation, Forced March) have a stronger effect — the latter only if you have actually researched them. The attack and defence of your troops and the base speed of your ships stay untouched. The bonus is a switch, not a ladder: a single plan already turns it fully on, and more plans or a higher laboratory do not make it any stronger.
Plans don't move between your islands. What you produce on the main island stays there. A side island with its own laboratory produces its own plans — separate accounts, separate effects.
How are plans produced? #
Once your laboratory reaches level 6, the island slowly starts producing plans. Every further laboratory level yields more plans per day — that only speeds up the resupply; the bonus itself does not grow. Your laboratory stores only as many knowledge plans as it has levels; anything beyond that is lost.
You don't trigger plan production manually. It runs in the background as soon as the conditions are met.
When are plans at risk? #
If you lose a battle on a plan-bearing island, the attacker may take a portion of your plans. The size of that portion depends on the strength ratio — a narrow win nets the attacker less than a clear one.
In a successful colonisation, the plans transfer with the island to the new owner. They aren't destroyed — they go along.
Strategy #
- The laboratory pays off, but not in bonus size — a higher laboratory shortens research times and refills the plan stock faster; the plan bonus itself stays the same size
- Defence protects your plans — an island that looks easy to plunder becomes a plan magnet for attackers
- One plan is enough, the rest is a cushion — as soon as a single plan sits on the island the economy bonus is fully live; you don't have to research anything for it, and a bigger stock doesn't strengthen it, it only saves you from standing there with no plan at all after a plunder
You can view your current plan stockpile directly in your island's Research tab — there is a dedicated section for knowledge plans, and it also tells you whether your plan bonus is currently active.
